Daniel Weil
Daniel Weil, partner at Pentagram

Moving to London in 1978 from his home town of Buenos Aires, Argentina, to study design at the Royal College of Art, Weil has remained in the city ever since. The work that launched him onto the design scene was his degree show project – Radio in a Bag – designed in 1981. This design, consisting of a transparent PVC bag containing scattered transistor radio components, was a reaction to what people conceived audio equipment to look like – predominantly hard-edged black and chrome boxes.

As well as exhibiting a selection of his work, the exhibition will include some of Weil’s 375 sketchbooks dating back to 1978, which he used to visualise his ideas, always with a 2B pencil.
