The overall elegance of the design is striking. Yet the beauty of this bike not just skin deep. François Doré, the head of Horizons - the projects that go beyond Hermès’ core business , said that his team “set out to make a real bike, not a decorative object: simple, efficient, easy to use”. To achieve this, Doré worked with French bicycle manufacturer, Time, which worked on a given design and hand-produced each model.

The Flâneurs have a shock-absorbing monobloc frame, a belt-driven transmission, hydraulic disc brakes and eight or 11 gears integrated into the rear wheel hub. The fashion touch is in the details: bull leather on the grips of the handlebar, the saddle and the carry handle. The price? It’s steep, at $8000 dollars. But, rest assured, cycling will never get more chic than this.
